How different wheel and tyre sizes change the look of your car
Choosing an alternative tyre size is easier when you can picture the result. Car View helps you compare wheel and tyre proportions on a vehicle illustration, making it easier to picture how a different wheel diameter or tyre profile could change the appearance of a car. Use the illustration alongside the measurements: two combinations can have a similar overall diameter but look noticeably different because one has a larger wheel and a shorter tyre sidewall.
Compare wheel size and tyre profile
The wheel and tyre package creates the overall diameter of the fitted assembly. Increasing wheel diameter does not necessarily make that assembly taller: a lower-profile tyre can offset the larger wheel.
A suitably matched combination gives the wheel more visual prominence while preserving a similar overall diameter. A smaller wheel with a taller sidewall creates a different balance, with more tyre visible around the rim. Compare these proportions before deciding which appearance you prefer; the pictured alloy design is an illustration, not a preview of every wheel available to buy.
Will bigger wheels fill the wheel arches?
A larger wheel does not automatically fill more of the wheel arch. If its tyre sidewall becomes shorter and overall diameter stays similar, the space occupied by the wheel and tyre remains much the same.
Increasing overall tyre diameter can reduce the gap above the tyre, but it also changes the dimensions and rolling circumference. Do not choose it purely to achieve a particular appearance. Suspension, load and body shape affect the visible arch gap, so this view compares proportions rather than predicting exactly how your own car will sit.
Explore the view and its controls
Start with your current tyre size under Original tyre, then choose an alternative under Comparison tyre. Change one choice at a time and look at both the visible wheel and the surrounding sidewall. The circumference and speedometer panel helps you see whether a styling change also alters the overall size.
Where an illustration is available, use Full screen to inspect it more closely, or adjust Tyre brightness to make the rubber easier to see. Vehicle height moves the illustrated body relative to the wheels; it is a visual aid, not a suspension setting or a measured lowering recommendation. Appearance and wheel fitment are different checks
A combination that looks right here is not automatically a suitable fit. The illustration cannot establish clearance around suspension, brakes or bodywork while steering or travelling over bumps. Wheel width and offset also affect how far a wheel sits towards the arch or in towards the suspension; diameter alone cannot show this.
