Reset Tyre Monitor for

Alfa Junior — 24 - 26

Tyre-pressure monitoring system reset and calibration guidance.

Reset or calibrate the tyre monitor

Tyre-pressure monitoring system symbol
System initialisation

After tyre pressure correction or wheel change, the system must be initialised to learn new circumference reference values:

always ensure that all four tyres have correct tyre pressure apply the electric parking brake initialise the system via the Connect system ("Settings" > "Vehicle" > "Safety")

reset is confirmed by pop-up indication

After initialisation system automatically calibrates to new tyre pressures during driving.

After longer drive the system will adopt and monitor new pressures.

The Tyre Underinflation Detection signals the driver a possible insufficient pressure if this falls below the warning limit for any reason.

Always check tyre pressure with cold tyres.

The system will not warn instantaneously on a tyre blow out or a rapid deflation.

This is due to requires calculation time.

System has to be reinitialised when:

(1) The tyre pressure has been changed.

(2) Load condition has been changed.

(3) Wheels have been swapped or exchanged.

(4) Tyre pressure is affected by temperature decrease.

(5) When the space-saver wheel is fitted.

In these cases the system can require a Reset.

Before resetting the system

Set all tyres on the Alfa Junior to the correct cold pressures first. Resetting the monitor with an incorrectly inflated tyre can store an unsafe reference value.

How tyre-pressure monitoring systems work

Direct TPMS uses a pressure sensor inside each wheel. It can usually identify a pressure loss before the vehicle moves and may show individual tyre pressures on the dashboard. Sensor replacement or relearning can sometimes require specialist equipment.

Indirect TPMS uses the ABS wheel-speed sensors to identify a tyre whose rolling circumference has changed. This system normally needs recalibrating after tyre pressures are adjusted, tyres are replaced or wheels are moved.

Dashboard wording and reset steps vary between trim levels and software versions. Follow the vehicle’s on-screen instructions and owner’s manual where they differ from the guidance above.
